Title	The performance of customary marine tenure in the management of community fishery resources in Melanesia

Description	Evaluation of the operation and performance of a number of extant customary marine tenure (CMT) regimes in Fiji and Vanuatu, by assessing the sustainability of resources and the equity of management according to criteria identified by the local communities.

Title	Selection criteria and co-management guidelines for harvest reserves in tropical river fisheries

Description	This project includes considerable attention to local participation of stakeholder groups. Initial workshops were followed by an intensive, 7-week Regional Reserve Survey (RRS) which involved six full-time staff, three from the UK and three from CRIFI, covering biological, economic and institutional disciplines, and local collaborators from each of the three Dinas Perikanan provincial offices. At the final RRS Stakeholder Workshop, the Indonesian Government indicated its strong commitment to the project. Workshop participants agreed to establish a network of organizations working on Indonesian marine and freshwater reserves.
